CHARLOTTE, N.C., Aug. 5 -- Baker & Taylor, Inc., the
world's largest wholesale distributor of books and entertainment products,
today announced that John Lindsay has joined the Company as Vice President,
Book Merchandising. Mr. Lindsay will report to Jean Srnecz, Senior Vice
President, Merchandising.
"I am delighted that John has joined our organization," aforementioned Ms.
Srnecz. "He will take on a key role in the carrying out of our supply chain
initiatives and our carrying out of Category Buying."
Reporting to Mr. Lindsay will be Divisional Merchandise Directors Sally
Neher, Rick Shalayda and Barbara Witt. Allen Johnson will dually report to
Mr. Lindsay and Ms. Srnecz.
John near recently was VP Marketing/Merchandising at Levy Home
Entertainment with overall responsibilities for all areas of book purchasing,
category management, marketing, logistics and publishing house relations. At Levy,
he drove the IMU (Initial fall guy up) and sales betterment programs, and
freight reduction initiative. He also played a key role in partnering with
publishers on product maturation for new products/packages for the
instruction execution of successful go-to market product launches in untraditional
markets.
Before joining Levy in 2001, John held various senior Merchandise
Management positions with Shopko Stores, and the Venture Stores division of
the May Company. John holds a BA in Marketing from Missouri State
University.
